Editors Choice, as I always must add. Minecraft likely is going to get the indie of the year award.
My bet for Editors Choice: Best Singleplayer Indie would be Amnesia.
As for the Mod of the Year awards:
Singleplayer (Editors Choice), I'd guess Nehrim might have good chances, as it was a huge project and well advertised.
For Players Choice Mod of the Year I of course have voted and hope for Project Reality to win again. It certainly has a strong player-base to vote for it.

Judging by the gameplay videos floating around the net, I'd guess so

Right, this is truly Minecraft's year. It won over Amnesia as SP editors choice, and the total votes for indie of the year will most likely also beat both Amnesia and Warband.
I guessed right regarding Nehrim, though
Now, the question is who's going to end up winning the MotY awards.

You mean X-COM: UFO Defense?kekn wrote:In the meantime i'm enjoying the reworked UFO game emencely. I always loved that game
Re: 2010 Indie of the Year Winners!
Well, the original of the X-COM series was UFO:Enemy unknown, this one is UFO: alien invasion. The game is pretty much the same, but upped graphics and certain gameplay tweeks. Excellent job if you ask me - and they kept the concept of blending realtime with turnbased combat.
So many things I can't play on my 6-7 year old laptop, but this one works just super duper

If I recall it correctly, UFO: Enemy Unknown and X-COM: Ufo Defence are the very same game. The different names were used in different parts of the world, for reasons unknown to me. Now that was a great game, I thought none of the successors got it right again (the 2nd one was just silly remake of the 1st so that one doesn't count). I'll definitely check out this Alien Invasion, thanks.

Yes, Minutus, you are totally right about their names.
For me, X-COM: UFO Defense and JA2 remain the grandeur of the Tactic games genre. I always enjoy playing the the former on DosBox. It's like listening to gramophone records, nothing can beat that feeling
Sorry for a bit of offtopic.

Yes, those are the same games, but the "UFO: alien invasion" is a bit changed in plan of gameplay.
Anyway, i just finished the "Amnesia" game and found 3 different endings. Does anyone know if there are more endings?? i got some items left and i cant figure it out where to activate them. Anyway i really recommend this game to anyone that likes survival horror games, cos it's the bast so far
i'd give it:
8/10 graphics
9/10 visual effects
10/10 sound/background sound
1-4/10 puzzles
8/10 plot
10/10 gameplay

Re: 2010 Indie of the Year Winners!
Aww. PR didn't win MotY, because it already won 2008 and wasn't allowed to win again without a major update in between. There were several major updates, but I guess they wanted some huge changes :p
Forgotten Hope 2, another BF2 mod, won MotY. Although it is assumed that the votes of PR were much higher than those for FH2, but "we" only made it to an honourable mention
Minecraft won Indie of the Year, obviously, with Amnesia being second. Warband made it to the fourth place.
(Fifth, by the way, was Dwarf Fortress. Some of you may know it. I didn't get to really play it, sadly, and doubt I have the time, but it sounds awesome.)

Re: 2010 Indie of the Year Winners!
DF is the most intense game in the world (without doubt, really). It has unlimited possibilies and one can play it the whole life without getting bored. It reminds me of Stronghold series. But, apart from the pleasant appearance, Stronghold is just a toy for a new-born baby in comparison with a spaceship.
I'm glad, it won that place!

Re: 2010 Indie of the Year Winners!
I suggest you read a random page of this thread http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,16721.0.html . It's always intersting to listen to others' stories about their adventures, because each experience is totally unique. You won't be able to reproduce it next time you start it. That's the main feature of the game, and of almost all other games of Roguelike genre.
