Teamspeak?

As some of you know, we had a battle today, and of course, I dropped out because I had no clue what team speak was. And the time was way off from what was on the battle topic so I was also confused.

When Bulldog asked me to do team speak (Still have no idea)
I did "Team chat" So I left feeling like an idiot not wanting to get in anyones way. So for future battles can someone tell me how to get to team speak?

A TeamSpeak user will often wear a headset with an integrated microphone. Users use the TeamSpeak client software to connect to a TeamSpeak server of their choice, from there they can join chat channels.

The target audience for TeamSpeak is gamers, who can use the software to communicate with other players on the same team of a multiplayer game. Communicating by voice gives a competitive advantage by allowing players to keep their hands on the controls.

What I know it costs money to run a server on TS so I suggest we use Skype instead. Skype is free and you can use it to call to another computer that also have skype, you can also talk to several people at the same time.

Mumble... If you tipe something a guys voice says it, so its very usefull for those who don't got a microphone. Also free !

Akita if you are talking about TS now, I meant that the owner of the server have to pay to keep it, but its free to get TS and talk on someone elses server

EDIT: I have never heard of that if you type in chat a voice says it, not in TS or Skype

I doubt that these for free things can handle that many slots^^

Perhaps a reminder in the template used to announce a new battle would be in order. I know exactly how it feels being outside the chat and you do indeed feel stupid and like crying out loud "wtf are you doing... would someone please tell me!!!"... without getting an answer. Just make it a note for all players to join teamspeak at least 10 min before battle start.

I know Mumble does voice for whatever you type in, but it sounds like Robbie the Robot...And if you've ever tried listening to people talking on it, you'll know why it's called "Mumble".

Yeah erm.... my headset broke a few weeks ago so I'll need to order a new one :S.

Well I know skype, skype is shit for more than 2 people cause youcan't run a stand-alone server and it's not meant to use it for games.

I also know mumble a lot. Mumble has got a better quality, it's like your standing right next to each other, no problems at all. A mumble server is also cheaper.

But this thread is not about to discuss what's better cause Hardsteppa has got a TS server and the server is fine, no problems with that. Teamspeak is a programm which is specialised for gamers and it work's.

So I think we should thank Bulldog for upkeeping the server!

Edit: And providing us with TS!

Also on the note of TeamSpeak its getting to be quite cluttered up with random channels and to be honest I think clearing out some of the useless ones would be good, maybe limit a clan to only having a total of 3 channels, for example:

Guards Open Channel
Guards Strategy Channel
Guards Council Channel

Something like that because I for one don't know who why channels such as "Michael's Awesome Channel of Friendship" is there for one, its not being used (on any occasion I have seen).
