    Computer issues Empty Computer issues

    My PC has had a power fault or something of the like and I'm currently waiting on some parts to arrive for some people before they can fix it. So essentially I'm going to be AFK for a while, possibly a couple of days or longer, although I doubt longer than a week.

    So yeah, hopefully I'll be back with all haste.

    I kept my old monitor going for six months with this technique. Then it exploded.

    Meh, took PCWorld a week to order a part and approve it and then another week to arrange for someone to try and fix mah PC and when they did come round, they managed to make it explode. O_o

    Hopefully it'll be done at some point in the near future, although possibly not.

    Until it is you might see me around as BD_Alexander_Netbook, although I'm spending most of my time in battles or whatever because you don't really need to be able to block there. : P

    Okay, I'm really hating PC World right now.

    After having my PC for over a month now, they finally returned it.

    Except they appear to have returned to me my PC exactly as it was when they took it away, except that it was delivered to me with the side panel hanging off.

    The power bit which was broken is still broken.

    Something out there wants to stop me playing Warband.

    Tbh PC repair guys the world over seem to be utterly shit. You should take pictures of it and then lodge a serious complaint. You could complain to watchdog or something.

    Looks like there are lots of complaints about this on the internet.

    What "power bit" is actually broken? You mean the PSU?

    What PC world have done sounds properly illegal, you've got a refund at least?

    Pretty certain that's the part, although I'm not entirely certain.

    They're coming round to collect it again and hopefully this time actually fix it on Friday.

    PSUs are very easy to replace. They do pack up after a few years though, they shouldn't take other parts with them in the modern day but bad PSUs have been known to in the past.

    There's no issues with software or anything like that, you just take a supply with enough oomph and shove it in. I use OCZ. Good reliable stuff, they don't cut corners and the ones on that page use high amp rails so that you can run power hungry components and not worry about how the power is getting to them.

    Heh, well I've already had a little recovery session today on Nditions/IG_Battlegrounds and I must say it doesn't look like it'll take too long before I be back to what I was.
